Looking for Scientific explanations of Phenotype

Hi! I'm looking for a website or post that gives a more scientific explanation of color and pattern genetics in chickens. I've some experience with this in dogs where phenotype has been broken down by genetic research companies and you can learn what genes your dog may carry by sending in a DNA sample. I'm curious how much research has been done on chickens but of course also interested in genetic theory as hundreds of years of observations is often correct or at least very close to being correct. So far all I've found are a few statements and charts with color descriptions that seem to often mean different things depending on who your talking to. Any information is appreciated.

Honored to be included, but I rarely know much about colors besides blues. Everything else kinda is a wait and see for my birds....

Ah okay whoops that’s what I do for mine too haha I can’t wait to see what color eggs my mixed breed babies lay.

More research have been done on Chicken than on dogs, so much that it has become a real predictable science, because you know as a humans we depend so much on them as an inexpensive source of protein and Dogs are just pets. Lol
