Looking to add a couple of heritage chickens to the flock

I got to say the same.
I have/ had a good many breeds of chickens and the only one that is still here from day one is my Red's.
I have Single and Rose comb Red's and they have to be one of if not the best breed of chicken I have.

Were these from William Bennetts birds ? They look great !!!!!

thanks,
i never got any from william, maybe this spring.

I doubt he will have any avaiable this spring, last I heard he sold a lot of hens hens and I was at the sale when he sold a lot of them so I'm not sure if hes restocking his flock or what but if he is still selling chicks he would have serveral booked up orders for them is what he told me the last time I asked him about it. If he doesnt have any avaiable though he and I have another friend with his line of birds who will be selling and shipping chicks and eggs so if you can get them from him directly, I'll get you incontact with our other friend that should be able to get you some.

all orps are english

English blooded Orpingtons (from eggs/chicks/chickens actually imported from England) are different in appearance than US Orps.

US Heritage Orpingtons are bred toward the APA standard. The American standard is different from the English Standard.

Heritage APA Orpingtons also are not chicks purchased from a Hatchery or feedstore. Hatchery/feedstore Orpingtons are NOT bred toward the APA standard and are often outcrossed with other breeds to increase laying.
