We are well past the 21 day mark and not a thing from our eggs. Momma is still broody as can be but it’s not looking good. I’m going to give them till Saturday afternoon before booting her off and pulling the eggs. Was hoping it would work out since it would be our very first time hatching in any way. Oh well we got some new members to the flock this spring too so maybe we will have good luck next year from one of them.

Candled them early this week (was out of town for 2 weeks before) and out of the 11 she is sitting on 7 were fertilized/completely dark. The other 4 lit up clear as day.

I wouldn't boot her off. She will instinctively know when the eggs are dead and give up, can you candle them again and post pictures? We will be able to know if they are viable.

Ok so went out and candled again. She has 5 NEW eggs in the last couple days. Not sure if they are actually hers or one of her “sisters”. Another hen has been sticking right by her side for the past week. Anyway here are the results from candling some are completely clear. Some have a good size air pocket and some are completely black. I took more pics but these are the only two that you can see anything my phone must have glitched or something
