I agree we dont have a gun,so the only option is pretty much drowning.I know my mom would never get a gun becouse shes just like that also to much money.

Can't remember where I read it but I think some people use a med that peacefully and painlessly lets beings go to sleep and not wake up (it would in this case need to be placed in a food that they are given to eat). I am sorry that I don't know the name of it - I don't use any of these options (i.e. I haven't killed anybody) so I'm afraid I'm not well versed on it but maybe somebody else will be. I hope to run into the info again soon in case it can provide another option for someone who feels they must 'dispatch' a pred....

We have some high-powered rifles, but the neighbors would freak if they heard that. So we pretty much have to drown them.

It's OK. You're not alone. Just that some of us love our chickens and ducks more than we love some dumb ol' raccoon.

I recently had coons attack my ducks and they killed all five of them...well 4 of them and one was left with nothing on its skull and it was still alive...let me tell you if I caught them, I probably would have been alot more violent. After seeing the masacre done to my babies and my kids faces when they found out their ducks were all dead. I am with you on this one...drown the little @#$%$$^%^^^&

You can get away with shooting them in a residential setting, just use a .22 caliber rifle that can be bought at Walmart and get the compact bullets for it that are way quieter, really u can hardly hear them. That's what I do. Just dont let the neighbors see u with the gun they might freak out so be careful.
