Well now you sound like my neighbor....let a dog run loose,......which kill many of ,my animal .....without getting in the pens.....Scare them so bad ,chase them from outside of the run. till they break their neck. That why most state have leash LAWS.

we live in the country and our dogs dont leave our yard 7 acres plus huge forest behind our property, neigbers have no livestock and love our dogs but like i said we train them as puppys not to leave our yard....and bobbi j i meant release back in her yard so no relocating. killing this animal is not going to prevent attacks in future. she needs to improve coop

SSS is the best alternative. Yeah I know raccoons are cute, but they ain't so cute after they kill half of your flock and still counting. If you can't bring yourself to kill it (maybe you already did, I didn't read through the whole thread, my apologies) you could ask your neighbor or somebody you know who has experience in extermination.

I'd just like to point out...the coon is long gone, and there is no reason to continue this thread

I did not even recognize it as a coon. Perhaps it is not healthy.

Yep, he was also quite young. 3 months maybe. That's why he's so little.
