  1. Hello, I'm from TX and am looking for some help!! I used to hatch out eggs great and raise them up good! But the last 4-6 months (just guessing) I've been hatching out eggs that are bought instead of my own eggs. (Wanting new bloodline) and it seems like only half the eggs are fertile cause they stay clear instead of growing at all in the incu. And the other half that do hatch out seem to eventually die before they are 2 months. I understand one or two here and there cause yer gonna loose a few but mine will be healthy for weeks and then out of no where just die one by one. I'm loosing s ton of money!! Even the chicks I buy from others seem to die. I'm wondering if my brooder is too hot or something?? I don't think it is though? I give them medicine for cocci or whatever it's called that can kill them. I use shavings but only the big shavings. Or am I not cleaning out the brooder enough? They always do good on eating and drinking. Please, help!!! Thank you.

Could be to hot, is there brooder someplace where they can get into some sunshine if they want? Are you keeping the heat lamp on day and night? Do you have a thermometer in the brooder? Just questions to help make it easier to evaluate the situation. :)

Ok, y'all ask about how my brooder is set up: I have large pine chips, water at the opposite end of the heating bulb, a brooder thermometer in the middle, The opposite end from the heat bulb is open so they can get fresh air, my chicks eat and drink a good. But will all the sudden die for no reason. I have use the medication for cocci in their water for a few days after one does just incase that's the problem. They eat chick starter. I do not use chemicals. When I cleaned out the router all I do is scoop out the old bedding and poop and put New in. So why are all my chicks dying? Today the prettiest little lavender chick I've ever saw was fine one minute then started to flop around as if it was a neurological problem and died right in front of me as I was cleaning the other chickcage. As you can see the partridge silky is all the sudden sick today Someone please help!

They may need more natural light, I don't use the red heat bulbs, so don't know if that could be an issue, I use 75 way light bulbs, incandescent.
I'm not sure what else it could be. Maybe @CapricornFarm farm can help or at least tagg someone who can.
