LOS ANGELES county CA under bird quarantine :(

Or they will compost them in the factory farm warehouses. View attachment 1686646
I saw that part I’m just curious if they come collect them? They’d have to since it says not to move birds because that’s how it spreads. It also says some neighborhoods so it’s possible not all areas in the city? I’ll have to call later today and ask. So sad I have 3 little ones who just got to go outside :(

On the pic Kiki posted it says to dip the bodies in bleach and then double bag them and put them in the trash. You will also have to wait 6 months from when the state or USDA have eradicated the new castles disease before getting more chickens.

i cant do that I’ll have to call them to get them no way can I do that. If there was no other choice yes but if they take them I’d rather that. I can’t picture putting my baby chicks in bleach. Also the website said 120 days but I highly doubt it’ll be eradicated by then the way this is going. Thank you for the information I just don’t think I can do it myself :(

My birds aren’t sick or dying ( not saying they can’t catch the disease) but isn’t this more referring to if your birds are already affected? If they just listed the area as mandatory

You dip the bodies in bleach after the birds have been humanely euthanized not while they are alive. If they come to your property the birds will be euthanized on your property.

Yes I know it’s after. I can’t do it myself when they aren’t sick. It would be too sad for me. If they can do it that’s better.

I would call and ask or wait until they come to your door.
I’m going to call later today after I tell my daughter. She’s only 4 and I want her to be able to say goodbye. I honestly haven’t heard any of the neighbors needing to get rid of their chickens so it’s just shocking to wake up to being in a euthanasia zone. Sorry for my rambling this is just so hard to comprehend
