What does the vet recommend to help her?

Ascaridia galli = a type of roundworm. Wazine takes care of roundworms, but only roundworms. You need to administer a 2nd dose in 14 days and toss the eggs for 2 weeks each time you use it.

Since you live in Canada, you will need piperazine to get rid of the large roundworms. Redose again in 10 days. If you can get some flubenvet in Canada, use that the second time around instead of the piperazine.

Well she had her first round of dewormer but she is just getting worse. She can't jump anymore and can barely walk. Her energy levels are low, she is always sleeping. And she isnt eating much. She lost lots of weight. Skin looks wrinkly in places and I dont think she will survive the next few days. I can't figure out whats wrong with her.

What has her diet been? (before all of this)
If the vet is familiar with tube feeding he/she could really bolster her that way.......

She died this morning. I did a necropsy and we are sending away for lab work. The doctor said there was lesions on her liver, heart and lots of fluid in the stomach and lungs. She was surprised by the amount of fluid. And the bird was very underweight. She suspects a bacterial infection that got out of hand. Anyone else have familiar symptoms with their bird?

She never had any symptoms like runny nose and eyes or anything like that.

Sorry for your loss. I've dealt with E Coli in a rooster. A necropsy wasnt performed, but I know there wasnt any fluids in the lungs and stomach.

I'm sorry about your chicken.
I have a RIR that has been strange since Feb. I did make a post on here about her. She is a bantam. She has been acting strangely now for a few days since she started laying again. I don't know if it's coincidence or what? She went broody a few months back and then was happy and normal again since hatching out two chicks. (not her eggs). She had been active and fun for weeks. Now she laid a couple very large eggs and is acting all weird again. Sleepy, eyes closed, standing around hiding. Still eating. Very quiet.
