If you haven't done so already, please start a thread about her so more folks see it. She is not well. And when you start that post, include as much info as you can, including her diet etc....

What I hate about chickens is that you could list the same symptoms for so many problems. I just paid a lab $230 for labwork to be done on tissue samples from my bird. Plus $160 for the necropsy. Nasty bill. But now Ill know without guessing and its really about the flock at this point.

Wow! that's a lot

...did you consider your state extension office or state university veterinary lab for the necropsy?

I just brought a chicken in for a necropsy to the OSU (Oregon State Univ) Veterinary Diagnostic Lab and the necropsy itself is $30. Other tests cost more, if needed, but much less than what a vet or private lab charges. I sure hope you get all the answers you need!

Hopefully you will not need to do this again, but if you do, there may be less expensive options for you.

Please let us know what you find out.

Good Luck.

Sounds like maybe coccidiosis, to jjthink
Original poster, sorry about your hen. It stinks to lose one.
