loss of baby chick/ question

I went down stairs to refresh water this afternoon and I found one of my 6 day old baby chicks was lying there having a really hard time breathing and eventually died after a half an hour. It seemed like she had asperated maybe on water from the signs that I have seen in finches that I have handfed before. Has this happened to anyone else?

It can happen. I've personally never had it happen to baby chickens. But, I have had this happen with baby quail a lot. Someone told be to add marbles to the chick waterer and it helped. I didnt have that happen anymore after I did.
