I think you are right to keep her and see if anything happens - I appreciate thats a very stressful approach for you.

If alls well in a couple of weeks, I would get her a companion.

Final update: lost my last duck today. Cannot figure out what has killed them (chickens and turkeys are doing well at least). They had stopped eating for the last few days. My suspects so far are: the small amount of mold I found in their food a week+ ago; a plant or bug the were eating; or their new stock pond tank I got them this summer so the had more play area over their old stock tank; mosquito based disease. From what I read their symptoms match poisoning or viral of some kind. Not really with zinc or metals though. I hope all this helps someone in the future. Thank you everyone for the kind words and help through all of this. May all your birds stay healthy.

I am so sorry - that is a lot of loss to bear

I hope you find some comfort in all that you did to work out what was going on and trying to prevent the same fate for your last two birds.
