Aww Rooster I'm sorry. At first when I saw the title I thought he ran away. Sounds like he was a great pet. Sorry for your loss.

so sorry to hear about your pet,i know they can break your heart when they leave ya, i still miss my little dog after 7 yrs, have new pets but will never replace her

Hey Rooster, i never saw this post when it was new. Sorry for your loss. We just found out a few days ago out oldest (10) has a bad heart murmur. I guess it came on so fast, the vet seemed very concerned. Now i am faced with the not knowing whats next part. Loving a pet is not easy as we know we will have to lose them. All we can do is give them a great life so we do not have regrets.

I'm very sorry too, however I am thankful your dog had a dignified death in the company of his family.

Every time I've lost a pet, I grieve a few days and then begin a search for a replacement--somehow doing that helps me. The new pet can never replace the first one, but I realize the new pet will have qualities that make it special and unique.
