Lost My Pyrenees!

I live way out in the country 17 miles from town. I work in the vet industry so I called all the vets in the area in 2 counties and they will be on the lookout! I drove around for 1 1/2 hours looking at houses and knocking on doors. I found his trail because people had seen him Thursday evening but the trail went cold about 2 miles from the house. I won't give up! He is a great dog and I really hate to start over with a new pup. My 3 year old boy is really attached to that dog as we all are but it will be hard for him because he has such a tender heart. I have to butcher turkeys and chickens in the barn when he is not around because it makes him really sad.

I hope he comes home!
Being intact could be an issue. One day a young lady was riding her bike down our road and had her dumb little terrier with her. The terrier was obviously in heat, and whilst Phillippe was trying to breed her, Lady and Oliver (our fixed male) were trying to chase her off. I kinda told off the lady. I believe I said something along the lines of, "Yeah, sorry about Phillipe. But they're trained to chase off small dogs that aren't our so they don't eat the poultry." The woman just stood there in the middle of the road going, "I don't know what to do! I don't know what to do!!"

Hopefully he's just gone for a walk.

I would be sick with worry. I have a wandering dog. A big, beautiful, teddy bear of a Bernese Mountain dog. He loves everyone in the neighborhood and everyone loves him, so sometimes he goes visiting, and everyone gives him a treat when he stops by (which does not help my cause to keep him home). It makes me crazy when he does that so I was putting up an invisible fence until 4 feet of snow was dumped on us overnight a couple months ago. As soon as the snow melts, my wandering dog is grounded, though. The neighbors are all very sad to hear that Bishop won't be coming to visit anymore, but I will feel better knowing he can't leave the yard as soon as my back is turned.

I hope you find yours. I hope he's OK when you do.

My dog ran off today too! I would give it a couple days before you start worrying a lot. He knows where his food bowl is. Did you get a computer chip in him? If someone finds him and turns him into the vet or somewhere they will call you. My dog likes to run off a lot and it has come in handy for me. Mine will come back. He always does. Especially since it gets close to zero at night here and mine hates the cold.

It looks like someone might of found a "lost" dog in a field and taken the dog. Or someone could of stole him...

Hope you will find him soon!

I would get him fixed ASAP and I really hope you already have him microchipped.

I want to get a livestock guardian but I have to electrify all the boundary fences first. I'd be distraught if my dog got out. Around here a stray dog is a dead dog, farmers shoot first and ask questions later.
