Lost My Pyrenees!

We were given our GP because she played with her former owners chickens to death. Well, duh, when you turn an unsupervised puppy loose with lots of intresting playtoys, don't blame the dog. Although I am glad they did, cause we have her now. She just turned a year and is terrified to go in the coop with our 2 SLW hens.

It will take time and patience for her to learn those flappy things that squawk are Mommy's, don't drown them in slobber.

I love your spotted pup, he is really pretty. I truly hope your GP comes back to you.

Hi, people have asked several times if Mouse is microchiped and I can't see a reply.

If your getting another puppy please get it chipped! A chip is the best way of assuring your animals come home if they get lost.

My parents dog bolted in fear during a thunderstorm when she was stupidly let out by a visitor. She was picked up the next day nearly 10 miles away, taken to a vet for medical attention (she'd run her paws bloody) and the vet scanned her and immediately called to let us know she was found.

We would never have thought she'd make it that far. We'd never have got her back without the chip as at some point she'd lost her collar and tags.

For just a few dollars it's peace of mind knowing if they go missing and are taken to any vet or pound you'll get a call.

I really hope you find Mouse or he appears back home soon.

No, Mouse was not microchipped. Someone would have to take him to a vet with a reader for it to help and he has not been to a vet in this area. I have talked to every vet clinic within a 50 mile radius to be on the lookout for him. I work for Elanco, the makers of Comfortis and Tylan and am in vet clinics all day everyday. They know me well for years now and will look for him. I haven't given up on him yet and am still looking and asking about him. I can only hope someone picked him up and he wasn't shot! I did pick up a new puppy today. He was born on New Years Eve so he will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Here is a pic of him and he will be chipped.

Before you give up. I would tell you to put an ad.on craigslist. Tell them about your dog and I know this sounds awkward... but offer money for his safe return no questions asked. I have had a couple of friends who have had good luck with that. If it is a thief, maybe they will tire of having such a big dg around and would be Ok with money instead. I know a lot of people think that is feeding the fire, but if I didn't have any of my dogs I would want them back.

Good Luck!!

Hope he comes back!!!

PS One of my pet dogs I found. I spent 1 and 1/2 weeks searching for the owner. I found her! I was so attached... but I told her the truth, that I had her dog. She let me keep it! It could work out, you never know. Keep the faith!

That's not a dog! It's a baby polar bear!

Cute as a button, by the way.

I had mine microchipped since we got our two registered and for breeding stock. But you're probably right. We're out in the sticks where no one bothers much with vets, etc.

I hope you find your baby too.

Don't know if this will help or if it's do-able for you. We plan to surround our barbed-wire fenced 16 acres with lots of electric fencing, 6 or more strands, starting at 5" or less off the ground up. That's what I meant about "goat-type" fencing. A goat farmer a mile from us has this type of fencing and it seems to hold his wander-minded Pyrs and Anatolian crosses in as well as his goats. Just an idea.

It has been 9 days since Mouse took off and I spent a few hours today looking for him. I saw a group of people down in the Sabine river bottom so I stopped and talked to them. It turned out that one of the older ladies said that my dog had slepped on her sisters back porch for 2 nights but they didn't feed him so he would leave and he did. Then one of the other guys said, "is he one of those big dogs that people put in with goats? He then said I saw one yesterday afternoon on FM699 at a house. I got excited because that is the road where his trail went cold. So me and my 2 boys headded that way. When we pulled into the drive, I see a big white Pyrenees running down the drive! We got so excited until he got closer and I knew it wasn't him. I said it was not him and the boys thought I was crazy because they knew it was him but I knew it wasn't. The people were outside so I talked to them for a while. They didn't know and I didn't either that anybody else in the area had a Pyrenees. He did look so much like Mouse and was only 4 months older than him. Your heart just races when you think you found him and then it just drops to the lowest it can go. We still won't give up!
