Gytha's instincts were accurate, as there was something following her. Closely, but not too closely. He honestly kept his distance, letting her get further away from the orc settlement before he finally approached her. As she started down the hill, the creature let the distance between them begin to diminish. He didn't want to startle her so badly that she ran, but eventually he would have to speak to her.
He quickened his pace, and veered slightly to the right so that he could overtake her without alerting her of his presence. Then he planned to reveal himself in front of her, to lessen the chances of her bolting off again. His footsteps were quiet, but he wasn't perfectly silent as he slipped past her, eventually ending up in front of her. Standing alertly, but in a non-threatening manner.
Gytha looked behind her again, still unable to shake the notion someone or something was following her. But when she looked back to the direction she was headed, she gasped loudly at the sight of the orc-like creature in front of her. With her level of exhaustion, there was little hope she could outrun him. Instead, she bent down quickly and picked up the only weapon available to her; a fist-sized rock. She intended to throw it at his head, but it wasn't until she was bringing back her arm that she noticed he wasn't preparing to attack her and did not even have a drawn weapon. She held the rock poised, finally studying the creature before her. "Let me pass," she said, attempting to keep the fear from her voice.
