"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Terri, great to see you and Jim again. Had a great time at your place yesterday. Thank you so much for ALL of the fig trees and wild plum trees and plum jelly and feeder trough. I needed a UHAUL for all of the goodies that you gave us on yesterday.

Enjoyed the peas, the chickens, the guineas, the dogs and the cat. So much to see over there and it was a beautiful day to see it.

I had your plum jelly and biscuits for supper last night and breakfast this morning. OMG!!!! Your plum jelly is delicious. You have to sell that so that everyone can get a chance to taste that delicious jelly. It is divine!!!

We planted all of the trees when we got home. I'm so excited!!!!!

I plan on sitting outside and watching my trees today. Lol.

Thanks again Terri. Next time, I will bring goodies to YOU.

Terri, my son (11yrs.) and I would both love to visit your place. So far he's been wild about our 5 little chickens, and wants as much to do with it as he can. He's told my husband we are getting a Pygmy goat next, but maybe just a visit to a place like yours will hold him over. We do live in a subdivision after all. Lol

You may want to get a couple goats too if you plan to use them to clear brush! The sheep are more finicky than goats. Sheep like young tender grass, and won't touch weeds. Goats are the exact opposite. They make a very good team for clearing out land.
Hubby is OK with sheep but very much opposed to goats. Goats climbed on his car years ago and he has never forgotten about that experience. My two horses will have to help the sheep clean up. And, of course, I have the geese who will eat everything and leave the land barren.

The sheep, horses, and geese will have to be my cleanup team to keep hubby happy.

Morning all! Ended my weekend with one vomiting child and woke up to two vomiting children.

I hate stomach viruses more than anything! Yuck!

Terri--you may need to save me a cutting or two of those plums. I don't have any here. We have fig, several peach trees, wild grapes, plenty of berries vines, and muscadines. I would love plum!

So many new people visiting the threads in the past few weeks. It's good to see others who have been sucked in by the chicken madness. I feel much less out of the ordinary to see the chicken math working its magic on so many besides myself!

My son's chicken is on my list today. She has gotten to where she won't eat her food--she waits around for treats of mealworms, scratch, crickets, or yogurt. She will starve if she has to just waiting for something better than normal feed. So I stopped taking treats to that pen to try to break her. I was raking out their run yesterday afternoon and she was walking alongside me steadily fussing. She even followed me out of the run. So I had to pick her up to put her back in. The little whiner pooped all down me when I picked her up! Fussing as loud as she could while I had her, too. I know that was done intentionally. What a day to be wearing flip flops. Grrrrrr.....see if she gets any treats for a while! Ha!

Good morning La-yers! very foggy & WET here -- boy did we have a line of t-storms blow through yesterday! We had just finished Easter dinner & I was fixing to serve up dessert - coconut cake with meyer lemon curd filling -- when the storms hit.

We lost our greenhouse -- the whole thing just sort of "exploded".

Julie it was great seeing you again too! Good luck with your new "orchard"!

Abbie you're more than welcome to come visit this house of horrors -- we'll get together soon (when it dries up a bit)!

Sandy so sorry you have sick little ones & stomach viruses suck - hope they are better soon & nobody else gets it! Have plenty of wild plum trees to share, give me a shout next time you're in the area - as I told Julie, they are practially an invasive species - -they pop up everywhere!

OK time to get to work here -- we have lots of debris down from the storms - they clocked 58 mph winds - and fire ants popping up everywhere -- and our poor greenhouse to dismantle. We still had our hibiscus & some other plants in there we have to dig out.

Good morning all. Rained a bit on yesterday but the yard looks great with all of the sand.

Thought I would post a few pics of the yard incubators. I think this is overkill but obviously they don't. :/

Congrats but I hate to burst your bubble. That's not really an egg from your chickens. That egg is from my chickens. I put that there this morning to fool you. Well, it is April Fool's Day today isn't it? :lau
