Too much fermented grapes?

I will have to record them and send you the link so that you can hear these WILD sounds.

Update: Mine have gone CRAZY today -- both Romeo & D'artagnan have upped their mating calls like, 10 times as much as they've been doing the past couple of weeks. Every few minutes we hear the 'ME-OW! ME-OW'! There's nothing out there in their pen; I went out & checked. I think mating season has just kicked into high gear.

how cool is that?!?! I bet you were glad it was babies and not wasps! :)

I found a nest of barn swallows over the weekend...... The nest was under the porch overhang at the old woman's house that I work for on the weekends. I made the mistake of telling her I found a bird nest... This old woman actually followed me out to the porch and told me to knock down the nest and she would watch me do it (she knows that I would have just told her I did it). After arguing with her for a few minutes, I told her that if she wanted it down, she could knock it down and handed her the broom. She is a little frail 89 year old lady, but she sure as heck took that broom from me and batted that nest like it was a pinata. I went back in the house to finish up my "list of chores". The next thing I know, she's yelling at me to come help her because there were babies in the nest!! She had knocked the nest down and was hitting the babies with the broom!!!

Needless to say, I told her that I was done. I quit there on the spot! I cried the whole way home and most of the night. I guess I'm just too soft hearted, but I felt like she was out of line!
oh my!!! Poor babies!!

A few days ago we were at my Grandma's and opened up an old grill thinking there were wasps inside. Found these:

I am with you. I'd do the same thing. Raise a blue jay last summer. Just so it would have a chance.

I think I would have "accidentally" knocked HER with the broom. *cough cough* and told her that I was sorry that I didn't mean to bust her aside the head and that I was trying to hit the nest. ;)

Check out the feeders on this thread! I think I'm going to have to make a few! I've been wanting to make some PVC feeders, but never found a good solution to keeping to rain from getting in. This guy has come up with a fantastic design! It can't cost more than a regular feeder, won't rust, and the chickens can't scratch their food all over the place!

Other project on the list. The hubby is going to kill me!
