"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

NOLA Chicks, the wine was delicious. I used green grapes this time. I prefer the red grapes. I think that will next after the pineapple. :drool

I'll have to get my carpenter to build me a wine rack. Too bad that I don't have a wine cellar. But then again, it's good that I don't have one. I would probably live in that thing. :)

Hey y'all. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tricks or tips for setting a cracked egg. It's a goose egg (pilgrim) and the crack is on the pointy end, opposite the air sac. It was shipped if that matters. Thanks! :)

Put some wax on it. I had accidentally busted a small HOLE (not crack) in a goose egg by putting the incubator top top on the egg. DUMB ME! :smack The wonderful people on the goose thread told me to put wax on it. I had a hard block of wax in the cabinet and I cut some off of it and I melted it down. After it was melted, I smoothed it out and placed it over that hole. The goose hatched perfect with no problems. I didn't think that it was going to work but it did. Good luck.

Has anyone ever dealt with an eye worm?

I'm pretty sure one of my silkies has one, and I plan to treat it with VetRx, If that doesn't work then it going to be the ever trusty ivomec!

Wine looks pretty good!! I feel like I need some today! Oh well... I'm guess that it tastes pretty good since you "slept like a baby" LOL

Chickenbelle - glad that you got your babies. I hope that they pull through!! I'm sure that the crazy dodo will try to tell you that the ones you really wanted (and paid for) were the ones that died and it was out of his control. Even, though he helped contribute to problem by not shipping in a timely manner and then trying to drown the poor dears!

Gracie - I just love the photo! Too cute! They are so proud of their duck duck gooses. LOL. Plus the sizzle pic was super cute!

Hope y'all are having a good day & hope y'all have a good weekend!

Sorry to hear about your silkie. Never had to deal with it before. Sorry.

Eye worm? That sounds gross and cool at the same time. Lol

I had never heard of it either until I saw someone post about it on a facebook page. Apparently it is carried by roaches, but I know we don't have a roach problem. Now they have eaten their fair share of june bugs, so maybe they are carriers as well?

From what I've read so far, it can destroy the eye if not treated. I am a little wary of putting Ivomec directly in her eye, but it's gotta be better than her losing it to a worm!

Apparently it can't be transmitted directly to other birds. My research shows that it is transmitted through an intermediate host (the cockroach), so even though I haven't seen any I will mix up a batch of permethrin spray and go crazy with it! Birds, coops, and all will get treated!

This one little worm has given me the hebbie jebbies!
