Thanks to both of you. At the risk of being a bit gross, my big girls have pretty large poop blobs. When I let them out in the morning their first poop is enormous. But the Amercaunas poop is like a little worm, long and skinny and I have often wondered how they could lay eggs, their vent must be so small to produce that skinny poop. Just wondering.
That is how you can tell who is laying and who is not. You don't find it mentioned much on this site, but their vents are quite small until they lay their first egg. I found this out by paranoid lice checks (before I knew it wasn't the same as ours) and verified it on here. When they start laying the first few eggs are smaller and they get larger from there.
