"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hahaha. Only the most lovable outlaws unless you try to hurt our family, our friends or our critters. I'm not talking to our new bee, she's already in the family. I'm talking all those outsiders like anyone that wants to count my chickens.

Hey there!! I already feel it coming on!

Keep an eye out for your "odd chicken out". I ended up first with 2 Black stars and one RIR. heard the phrase "birds of a feather flock together?" My two blacks hang out together and my two Amercaunas hang out together but Primrose is alone and she was my first. The black ones accept the two Amercaunas, but none of them gets along with Primrose and if they are all in a coop together Primrose can get badly pecked. They'll corner her and attack (they do fine in the chicken yard during the day). So I have two coops: one for Primrose and another for the others. Prim will go in with the others at night bec she wants to be with The other chickens to sleep but I know I can't let her. It's sad. So, I noticed you have two of one breed and 1 of another, so just keep your eye out for the loner. Even when they were young the blacks would chase her and she would run to me. She still runs to me to be picked up and carried around. She's my favorite.

I think hubby is a rabbit man. Lol

Just last night I had one of my babies started to get picked on. She started bleeding a good bit by her tail feathers. Will they ever get along? I have her separated right now..nd like Prim said..they are fine while grazing outside. I think she's a buff orpington. I think the one that is picking on her is a roo (not sure what type.). The Easter egger also picks on her. Any suggestions?

Like everyone says, make sure you blue coat her bec they will really go after her if any open flesh or blood is present. I have never been able to coop them together. I have tried several times when it seems they are getting along and Prim WANTS to coop with them, I figures Prim knows if there is danger. NOT! The last time I let her stay with the others she got it pretty bad. In the yard Prim can even be the bully, but in the coop she is a victim. I made a dog crate into a small sleeping coop (mine only sleep in the coop and run free during the day) hoping after a while I could put them together. But that didn't work. Now I have a separate coop for Prim. That's just my experience. Others could have other experiences, but my other chickens are in breed pairs and they know it. Prim is a lone RIR. That does matter. My newest are the Amercaunas and they are fine in the coop with the ones that peck on Prim.

The coop on the left are for the others. The coop on the right is for Primrose and the little dog kennel coop is on top of Primrose's coop.

AW THAT IS SO SAD!! I will definitely watch them. They all seem real sweet to each other right now. My lone buff is actually the biggest and the leader. She is very adventurous and the others attempt to follow. I have one that is 7-10 days younger and she is the most skittish, but seems to get on fine with the bunch. They are 4, and 5 weeks old. I am loving watching them grow and the relationship they have with each other.
