I had to save this picture when I saw it. Too cute.

Stealing this lol my dw thinks I'm chicken crazy lol

My hubby thinks the same thing but when they started paying for themselves he was ok with it. Now I'm on the verge of making a little chump change he's happy. Pam

I laugh at my wife. For yrs she didn't want me getting any chickens. Since I hatched my first batch and then they started laying last fall she fell in love with the fresh eggs. She still doesn't fool with the chickens much beyond the first week or so. She threatened me with an intervention when I told her I'm building breeding pens before long. Lol but I need to separate my fbcm birchen marans. Golden laced polish. Ee too. And there are couple more breeds I'm wanting

I'm looking forward to spring and warmer weather. We already started worming one of our bantam pens. Using fenbendazole and next time we need to we will use ivomec.

I found this article interesting and gross. I'm sure there are plenty of these kinds of articles out there. Worming is one of those things that I'm glad I learned not to listen to the feed store guys about. With the kids 4-H chickens we need to keep them in the best possible health that we can. I'm sure now that some of the hens we lost in the first few years of having chickens could easily have been caused by worms. http://poultrykeeper.com/general-chickens/worming-chickens

I'm worming mine - Safeguard this go round. Since they aren't laying anyway, might as well take advantage of it!
geez, pouring down rain here, guess it's fixing to turn cold again. Finished my painting for my Mom this morning, now off to take a nap & enjoy being HOME - no place like it!

That's a great idea, to worm while they aren't laying. Which form of safeguard do you use? I have the paste, but I'm so over "chicken wrangling" to force it down. I'm thinking about hiding a dose in bread and feeding it one at a time.

So back around thanksgiving this friend of mine asked if I could make a quilt for his gf by Christmas. No problem. And true to form I kept putting it off, and like usual I had to pull an all-nighter to finish it up. So I quilted all day yesterday til 7 this morning. When I realized I'd been sewing without a bobbin I gave up and slept for an hour, then got up and finished it. Then my dear sweet husband said "Let's look at Christmas sales!" And how could I resist that?!

We're in LC for the day and it may very literally shop til I drop. :lau

No Cody, it will not be necessary!!!. Being addicted to chickens is a myth. Totally. I promise. Truly.

On another note my Mom's neighbors gave her a tray of cookies for Christmas. There were these tasty little balls, I popped one in my mouth. Little did I know it was a Rum ball.

My ears and face started warming up and I realized what it was. I'm 4 1/2 yrs sober. Just what I needed. Relapse on a rum ball. Thought I might have to go to a meeting after all.
