Flat coke has to be flat! As you know coke will eat rust off stuff etc. the flat coke will liquifie any grain in the croop. May take overnight or a day after but it will work. Pam

Merry Christmas to all. Chickens included

SO AWESOME

We just Candled these eggs on day 16 for the first time, 3 of 6 top row, 12 of the 2nd and 3rd row and 19 of the last 3 rows are developed, we discarded 6 of 41, comes out to about 85 % possible hatch rate if all goes well from here, like i need 35 new chicks, What was i thinking, scratching my head now,lol

Thanks! I will try that before the wine.

Ok, I brought her in last night for observation. I gave her only water and massaged her crop. This am her crop is back to normal but she still has the terrible odor when she opens her beak. Poop is normal. Should I still try the coke? Would yogurt help? Maybe a little grit?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I would go with flat coke. Yogurt will give her the runs but would give her good bacteria. You could go with the probiotics and electrolights that would do the same thing with out the runs.i would offer grit with food. Pam

Ok. I have not fed her yet today, water only.
What about minced garlic? She eats it up when I offer it.

Garlick is on the do not feed to chickes list. You can look that up on BYC. A little doesn't harm them but it's cumlative so if you've been doing it for a while I wouldn't do it any more. You can start her on scrambled eggs. Pam
