"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I am placing this here instead of the classifieds to buy in Louisiana.  I am in the process of extending my chicken/guinea/duck yard.  At present I have two RIR roosters running a mixed flock of about 40-50 hens.  The area I am adding on will have a multipurpose pen in the middle.  Will have pheasants on one end, doves in the middlw and about ten feet for chickens to roost under which will be opened up.  My plan is to stick my five Plymouth Barred Rock hens in there for a month or two.  I am looking to buy a 1-2yr old Plymouth Barred Rock rooster to breed them to have a straight run.  I already have a few sexlinked hens available.  I should be finished with the pen in about a week.  If anyone within 30-50 mile of Crowley has one for sale or trade please let me know...thanks

got water shooting up out of crawfish holes here so high it looks like I'm smack-dab in the middle of Yellowstone parks geysers.

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for stencils but I ordered the coop as a hardware kit from creative coops (which i realize now was more expensive than just building our own, we thought it would be easier for some reason haha) and it came with some computer paper print out stencils! After DH finally finished assembling it I finished painting it I traced them on some thin cardboard and cut them out and painted them in there.

It's not done yet though, planning on adding some lettering and stuff.

Sorry Jeff, are you around Hornbeck? Not quite sure how to PM off this site yet

Dang it - sure got cold fast! My whole opinion of cold weather can be summed up like this: Say what you want about us in the South, but I never heard of anybody who retired to move up North!

Up extra early in the morning & on the road to the LSU vet hospital to see what's going on w/Mal's eye. Taking my Mom & Mal's sister Wiinnie for company & moral support. So worried about my Mal.
Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.
