"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I forgot to post a pic of my 1st guinea eggs of the year.

And here are a few pics of my young peacocks fanning. They still have a couple more years to go before they get a full train.

I SO wish my hubby would let me have some of these. He keeps saying...not yet. He says that once our daughter has left for college (she is 14) that I can have her 14x55 batting cage to use as an aviary. He says he'll fence it in and build a nice little house. It is already sand and 14 feet tall so would be perfect!

They are beautiful! Peas bring back a childhood memory. My extended family lives in Richland parish (near Monroe). An aunt of mine had peas when I was a child. While the adults were visiting my brother and I were sent out to play... We were told we could go pick up feathers, unfortunately for us and the birds we heard "go pick feathers" :-(

Didn't take long with all the commotion outside that my aunt came running. Boy was my mom upset and embarrassed. We kept those feathers for a long time... Poor peas...

thanks for the morning laugh! I can just picture the commotion!

Beautiful peas Julie! and congrats on the first guinea egg -- haven't seen anything out of mine -- just ran the silly things off the patio - they were looking through the door aggravating the Cockers!

So you have to wait that long huh? :( I'm sure it will be worth the wait. What kind of peas do you have in mind when you finally get some?
