There is a lady in Bell City who sells them for $3 each. Nice terra cotta colored eggs! She will even sell you hatching eggs for only $10 per dozen. Her name is Joyce Conner, and you can call her at 1-337-513-3411Where did you buy your Welsummers?
That was a lot of sand to move! I need to break down and get sand hauled in. I'm just dreading the extra labor on top of finishing the other 7 coops I need to build. Ughhh....so much to do and so little time to do it.
A really good heavy duty rake helps a LOT in spreading that stuff -- but you will be SO glad come hurricane season - it drains so fast & so well! No smelly pens w/sand!
Nice! It looks like it snowed! LOL Does it work by the errr....poop washing through the sand and sinking below the sand? I use river rock and that's exactly what happens, the poop washes through and the rock stays pretty clean. And, no odor...don't know why, but it's true.![]()
0.0 WOW looks good. I am considering sand but not sure if it will smell
Hey ya'll,.. just popped in to let those that are looking for organic feed know that I just spoke with Brandy at Okeefe's Feed and Seed in Covington and she says they are seriously looking into getting some in the store and to check back soon. Give her a call and let her know that you would be a potential customer!

I think you might be right!! And don't forget it needs a lawn chair and side table so you can sit in there and monitor their health and stuff. That's important!
Don't laugh. I have two lawn chairs and a side table right in the middle of my chicken yard. I ran into a friend the other day and said, "hey, why don't you come over. We can kick back, sit in the chicken yard and feed the girls some grapes." She said, "do you realize how really wierd that sounds?" I guess I didn't or I wouldn't have said it. LOL I was serious. Really, what could be better? Under the big oak tree, next to my beginning gardens, sipping a cold beverage, feeding grapes to chickens and watching the bunnies play. What could be better than that? Really!
