"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hi! My new Amercaunas are 4 weeks old. I have had them for 2 weeks. They have been living in a brooder on the back porch. I was hoping to put them in a cage in the chicken yard separate from but near the big girls at 5 weeks. Is that too early from the standpoint of quarantine?

Also, I already vaccinated the big girls for pox, should I vaccinate the babies this year, too, or can I wait until next year for the babies?

Thanks.
Quarantine for one month.
Yes I'd vaccinate the babies, too.

I got 8chicks about 4 weeks ago . I have a coop with a 4x8 run under the coop. Here' the thing, the little buggers won't go back up in the coop at night. I have to place them up the every evening. What in the world is going on here. The last time I had chickens , this was not a problem up they'd go every Time. These little chicks have not figured out they need to go up at night. They spent 2 weeks in the laundry room then out to the coop. Do any of you out there had this happen before thank s

What breed are they? Silkies area notorious for not going into their coop each evening. I have to pick mine up and place them in the coop every night.

Start feeding them in the coop - if nothing else, put a little plate out w/some oatmeal or some special treats in there every evening - once they figure out they get 'good things' when they go into the coop, they'll get in there willingly!

Hey everyone! Gosh so much has happened the past few days.... We got slammed by the storms :-(. Lost power and was callin around trying to find some one to take the egg babies! Thankfully I found a place to get them plugged in. Been working on getting things cleaned up around here. We didn't have any damage, but almost everyone around us did. So, we've been trying to pitch in when and where we can.

Congrats to all on the new babies! :)
@kuntrygirl - I don't know if u can ever have enough babies! LOL. Will u be selling some?

@silkiebaby - STEP AWAY FROM THE CANDLER!! LOL. Just be paitient. I know it's hard!! Trust me, I know it's hard!! I've got two batches of shipped eggs that I've been babying. :)

Also - WELCOME!!! To the new faces!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
