"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Umm...
So...I feel kinda weird barging into y'alls conversation here...about Chinese Crawfish ***gross*** and class-action lawsuits about AT&T (I got one of those a month ago, by the way). But I am hoping y'all fellow Louisianans can help me out with a theory I have.

You see, I have 3 Cuckoo Marans hens and 2 Rhode Island Red hen. At least, every other day I get a soft shell egg. I am not sure who's doing the layin'. They have plenty of crushed oyster shell (that is mixed with their feed).

My theory is this...Is it possible that one or two are laying these "bad eggs" early in the pre-dawn hours after laying their "good egg" the day before? Like, say perhaps the "good egg" at 1 pm then, the soft egg around 6am?

It would make since with only 5 hens. I am getting between 4-7 eggs a day.

These are the first chickens we have had. So, I still don't know what I am doing half the time

Like I said...Sorry to intrude.

But it did look like y'all wanted to talk eggs.

Thanks for any help y'all can give me.

Did we import a new wasp in this state? It looks like a paper wasp (body shape) but it is all black and attacking for no reason. The venom is spreading like a snake venom and not like a insect venom. This is 3 days after the sting with no scratching and hydrocortozine cream applied once a day: Now, I have a pretty sizable thigh so that is huge! I also have a tenant that got attacked and it swelled her wrist to the point of not being able to use it for several days.
Imported Ants. Imported Mosquitoes. Now Imported Wasps? Take shelter everyone.

The reason that I asked about receiving info about a class action suit is because I received something in the mail about 8 months and it was in reference to my land line receiving "robocalls" from ADT. It appears that these "robocalls" are a violation. And because of this violation, there was a group of attorney's who got together to represent all consumers who received these calls. These consumers were notified of the settlement and given the option to participate in the law suit or not.

So, the letter that I received 8 months ago, came to me as a surprise. I happened to be one of the consumers who received one of those annoying phone calls. I thought it was a scam but I wanted to see what would happen if I completed the form and mailed it back. Well, I had actually forgotten about it until yesterday when I received a settlement check. The check wasn't a lot. Only $48.04. That was an expensive call from ADT in that ADT had to pay for it. OUCH!
So a month ago, I received another Class Action Settlement Notice. This time is about being billed for Third-Party Charges on my ATT Landline between 2005-2013. It said that a settlement has been preliminary approved and the settlement calls for payments pursuant to claims to class members. I have not filled out the paperwork yet but this one sounds interesting.

So, if you all ever get these letters, read them and see what you think.

I am so glad you got that check. That's more than most people get and robocalls are terrible. Mostly I don't like class action law suits, but some are good when they cause companies that are harming people to stop. AT&T would cheat you put of your spit if they could. My motto is I wouldn't take anything from them if it was free. (I hope I didn't offend anyone and I am truly sorry if I did). As a matter of fact, they once sent me a letter offering a service for free if I bought a package at a certain reduced rate. I called and ordered it then they billed me a higher rate and for the free item. Of course I spent mega hours WAITING on the phone to talk to someone who would say it was fixed and it wasn't. Then they start threatening to cut off my service. This went on and on. Finally I filed a complaint with the FTC and suddenly AT&T "remembered" the original offer. After all the charges were removed, I cancelled everything AT&T and will never again use them. Another thing they do is when they owe you a credit, they won't take it off your current bill, they say you will get it in 3 billing cycles. Now most people forget after 3 months. Not me. And, of course, you do not get the credit after 3 months and back you go with phone calls that take hours. Then they still don't give you the credit. That was the topic of another FTC complaint I filed. But don't get me started. Lol Another apology to anyone I offended.

As someone (hint hint) pointed out the other day. We never stay "on topic". So no need to apologize.

Sometimes if you don't take action to opt out, you are automatically in and the lawyers make money off of your name on the list.

x2 Slimy layers . Glad you received some extra cash. That's the exception not the norm. Its attorneys getting 40% of the total amount be for any one in the suit gets anything. The really sad part is They get this much for a minimal amount of work. And every thing that we talked about this weekend started with layers. People keep voting them in now we have to have Obama care while they opted out and keep there good insurance etc, etc.P

Sorry to hear about your problem with ATT. I have ATT and they get on my nerves as well. I have been with them for a long time and had thought about switching services but not sure. No offense taken here. :)

I think it is the roosters crowing at all hours of the day and night, 5 feet from their bedroom window that they object to in most of suburbia. I can relate to that, myself, because I worked nights, 12 to 16 hours 7 days a week for years and my next door neighbor had a BIG LOUD dog that barked every time they put him in the yard and they left for work! He would still be balking when they got home. I don't know how his vocal cords held out. I was working at a plant in which turning the wrong valve, could have blown up half the parish. A stern warning from a crazy man that if it continued, they would be coming home to no dog, made them have to get new carpeting, before they got rid of that dog. Also there is the problem with flies and smell in a too small coop, where the hygiene isn't very good? I had a chicken and a duck once(the kind that were dyed and sold in the spring to kids, at festivals, that always die the next day; well my kid's duck lived to old age and the first crow from the rooster, we dispatched him) , in suburbia, myself, so I have been on both sides of the fence, so to speak, but there are people out there with no regard for neighbors, sad to say. That is why I now live in the country on land zoned agricultural and paid a good price because of the way the land is zoned! I personally see no problem with hens and a couple of ducks, anywhere, as long as they are humanely kept, anywhere, in fact ducks will eliminate almost all sketters, my neighbors will tell you that, and if you have a small yard, don't want any lawn, well, that's your business. After all this is still a free country in my book! Some people have 4 dogs and 6 cats, too, which are legal and that is their business, as long as they don't deny my right to sleep a few hours, between shifts! I have neighbors who live on AG zoned land and have manicured lawns and no animals, and that's fine to. I say live and let live, but therein is where the problem lies, too many people want back yard farm animals , but don't take care of them properly! That's what variances' are for. I'll get off my soapbox now and wait to get egged by everyone, but that's how I feel ! LOL

OUCH!!! Where are you again? Central Louisiana? That looks really painful. Have you tried ichthammol drawing salve. It's a favorite at our house. I swear it cures everything. Draws the yuck out. My grandma used it and we've always used it. I buy it in bulk now from a horse supply. I also get a tube occasionally from drug store. It lasts forever! I know I've seen some kind of giant wasp around here. Haven't noticed it's markings, because I'm usually headed in the other direction at a run!!!

Look up these three hornets and wasps and see if one looks similar:
Japanese Giant Hornet
Asian Giant Hornet
Cicada Killer Wasp

and the La-yers. Not intruding, hop on in. If you forget your meds its ok, we do sometimes too. Yes, it is possible. More than likely if they are new layers. Give them free choice oyster shell as well to make sure that they all get the proper amount. Some girls it seems need a little more than others even when they are the same breed.
