"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hi, from the the desert state Arizona. I have a tragic story, I live here! I came to visit my mom, 28 years ago, and couldn't return home. I miss the food and the people. I am detour med to come back to the south, with my chickens. I am looking for a new home, I can't go back to Stuart, it has changed so much it breaks my heart, plus half of my friends have died or moved away, the other half are in nursing homes or I can not find. I would love to be within 20 miles of the coast. Any suggestions, I meed enough land for my garden and chickens, and a small house, that I can afford on SS.

DE is more of a preventative than a cure. For the sake of my birds’ health, I’d pull out the big guns for this one. Do a search for what works. I’ve never dealt w/mites but I remember Adams Flea & Tick spray and Sevin dust or the spot-on Ivomec. Seems like there is something else that is spot-on but I don’t remember the name of it.

Advantage is safe on rabbits. You can research whether it's ok on chickens. It's not cheap, but a treatment shod work. If you have a bunch it would be too costly. I've heard Sevin on this thread before.

I was sitting on a tractor at one of the jobsites...my life is so exciting...and I get a call from school telling me that my 8yr old is sick.  AGGHHHH!!!!  Four kids in his class went home with a stomach virus yesterday, and mine was the first to fall today.  So far, fingers crossed, he just feels like he's going to be sick.  Fever and a headache, we can deal with...it's when the ends start leaking that it gets bad...YUCK!!!  On a positive note, my schedule just got a lot lighter tomorrow.  Looking for the bright side...  :/

Warning: weak stomach skip this post !!

Not sure how this happens but every time my granddaughter gets sick and throws up, it is on my bed, the carpet and the dog who then runs through the house. This has happened at least twice. Kid bath, dog bath, strip the bed, carpet sanitizer..

I'm excited, I got the basic structure done on the chicken shelter. All deep screws and all painted. The posts are super heavy, so this was HARD for me to put together by myself. But it looks,so far, hoe I envisioned it.

Thank you!! I needed that! He'd been doing ok, then my husband got home, then the horse shipped in, then I'm running back and forth between the house and barn. I am such a HORRIBLE mother, I was outside in the barn when poor Matthew finally threw up. I came back inside and he informed me I needed to change his bucket and that he felt a little better having thrown up. At least his aim is improving with age...which is something that usually DOESN'T happen with males.

Well, new horse is settling in. She's a beauty! I've got a short video clip, but can't figure out how to upload it. I'll aim for a picture next. She's running all around, as she just came off the track yesterday. At least she got her track shoes pulled off, so I don't have to worry as much if she kicks. No spikes now. I'll keep trying with the picture.

So far, all is quiet with my girls. They are a little ticked off because they aren't being let out tonight and let me know every time I run from the barn to the house. Harry has started talking to me...I guess he's growing on me....

I guess we'll see how things go.

Ok ok. Last night my 5 year old comes in and wakes me at 1am. Tummy hurt.
"ok baby, go potty..." I help her go, uneventful, she feels better, goes to lay down.
I hear her call for me, go over, she has arms out and wants love... So I grab her up and we snuggle up on the couch. She turns to me, touches my cheek with her hand, smiles and projectile vomited all over ME, the couch, the 3 blankets and 4 pillows we snuggled up in and the CAT sleeping next to us O.O
I started wretching. Had to keep her calm (she was still grinning until I started cleaning lol then she felt bad )and I didn't even know how to explain what just happened to her, she's never been sick-thanks school!. By 3 am we were in bed again.
Both kids had serious dental appointments at 8am they had to be sedated for (no, they don't give valium to scared parents in case you're wondering lol) and for the rest of the day I had two basically drunk angry, sore tiny people trying to fight their shadows lol my mind has left today, hung a sign that says "auto-pilot".
I am now at work til late late tonight...looking (and probably smelling) like a Zombie! Happy Halloween ya'll!

On a less gross note, we went to the State Fair this weekend, we were walking around with the kids and saw a Junior rodeo. After watching for a few, the hubby asks my 5 yr old girl if she wants to try. Whaaaaa? Cute baby but you have to register I'm sure and ummm train? Lol he says Naaaaaaa!!
Walks up to the announcer with her and then she's in line for a Sheep rodeo ride-Bell at 6 seconds lol 2nd event a goat tail pull! 2 cowboys pin a goat down butt up in the air, tie a pink ribbon to its tail and then time the little kids running to the goat-snatch the ribbon and run back O.O whoa the sounds coming from those goats! :/

She did great. Lol I couldn't stop laughing. So much fun those kids had. Sheep and goats not so much...except the Goat toss...yup. they toss baby goats. The baby goats come running back to do it again! Oh my goodness...
I was so proud of her for trying somethin new and being so brave.
