"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I would like to say this and I hope that she doesn't get mad at me for telling you all this but.............

LemonMeringue sent me some of her homemade soap to use. I have VERY sensitive skin and have severe allergies with scents and perfumes and foods that can land me in the ER at any given time. The only soap/lotions/laundry detergent that I use are those that have no scents or perfumes.

Well, today makes 3 weeks that I used her homemade soap and I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is perfect for me. For those of us who have sensitive skin and are allergic to scents and perfumes understand how important it is not to have that kinda stuff in things that we use directly on our skin. Everything about her soap was perfect.

I rated her product the same that I would rate any other product in the store. I will share it with you and again, I hope that she does not get upset with me sharing this with you but it is ALL GOOD !!!!!!!!

OVERALL RATING:

One thing that I noticed about this soap was that the dry, hard skin on my feet went away after showering with this soap for 3 weeks. I inherited dry skin on the heel of my foot courtesy of my grandmother which requires soaking often. I noticed that this VERY dry and sometimes cracked skin was GONE!!!!!!!!! I can only contribute this to the home made soap.

The reason for letting you all know about her soap so that if anyone is thinking about buying homemade soap, I would have to say that you all should buy her soap first before buying from online or in the stores. I think that you all will be 100% satisfied with the products that she has to sell.

I am a firm believer in supporting our local people 1st when buying products that I/we can use that the person may grow, make, etc before making commercial stores rich. Let's support "US" (locals) before we support "THEM" (commercial). Many of you know how vocal I am about things and I won't bite my tongue about my opinions and I would NEVER endorse ANYTHING that I didn't believe in, so this is a true WINNER in my book.

Now I don't have to use the only 2 hours that I had available (2:00 AM - 4:00 AM) to make soap, because I can buy it from LemonMeringue.

LemonMeringue, I will PM you my next order for a couple more bars of your homemade soap.

Good job LemonMeringue.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!!!! I do appreciate it so much!

I better go make more soap now ;)

I will post some pics with descriptions in a soap album on my profile page this evening.

Well...no more chicks! Doh.

Got an offer of for the whole lot Ida been a dummy nit to take :/

I have empty nest syndrome...which is REALLY bad for chicken math!

How long have you had them and how are they doing on feed? Give us some details on your journey so far. :pop

I am so jealous. I can't wait to get mine in January.

Good job !!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup

Lucky you!!! :thumbsup

My heart is with you Pam. I pray she will be ok.

Thank you it really means a lot to me. I have wanted to post more but things have been going on so fast around here. Ron and my son did go to the show I stayed home to doctor animals. He saw Ms.Magoo we've met her before at a swap. I think Terri is right about having the same color tee shirts so we can recognize everyone.
We also had a predator attack we lost two hens and saved one. I really didn't think she would make it. She had some very bad gashes. So I have been doctoring her with batedine ,Blue cote, and antibiotics added to water. Today she had her first healthy BM so I'm confident she is on the mend. Its a miracle she survived. I think all this stress might be part of the problem with the hen that is having the egg laying trouble. They both wouldn't eat for a couple of days. So this is why I haven't been posting. One bit of good news when I went to feed store for meds. Their were 3 chicks so I bought them thinking if the injured hen died the other hen would have company. When my hens heard the new chicks they started to eat.Pam

Good morning La-yers! 25 degrees is a tad bit on the cool side for me! Firing up the bator for some RIR eggs Chris was kind enough to send me, plus a couple of mine for olive-eggers and maybe another Marans or two.

The big chicken hawk we’ve been having problems with got too greedy and met his demise – my cousins shotgun! He had just killed one of their chickens & was still in the pen. I’m sure he was the one who got my lavender Ameracauna. I tried to shoot him earlier this week but he was gone by the time I got outside w/my gun. Good riddance!
It's illegal to shoot a hark, so I have been told so we SSS and blame it on the dogs! Don't all dogs carry guns??

You can usually find a coupon for them. They last a while, as you only need one to flavor your coffee. Plus, they're cheaper than a mental health visit. Food/drink can be good therapy...so can matches!

Shooting hawks rank way up there, too, and it really relaxes the tension as it relieves the stress. To keep the good feeling going and it keeps the others away for a while, mount the hawk on a pole in the middle of the yard, saying" Do you want some, too? " LOL

I was getting a dozen a day most days and they stacked up too quickly. I gave all my eggs away thinking that I would have more the next day for my house...boy was I wrong! I put the broody and new chicks out there, changed the feed to unmedicated chick feed, culled the last batch of meat chicks, then there was the cold snap and shorter days. I thought I had stopped them for winter with all the change. They laid them on the enclosed shelf under my grill on the porch but at least they started again. I think it is warmer there.
My girls have almost stopped completely, which they have never done. I did go from 200 hens down to about 30 and 2 are raising about 28 chicks between them in the rabbit barn. But I have a 6 month supply still in the fridge, just in case!

That's so sweet! Hubby saw our 2 that had a dozen little heads poking out from under the hens feathers, the other day and called me to come see. I guess he just never noticed that before, but everyone loves babies, even injured hens! I'm glad it cheered them up!
