"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

There is a CSA in 6 th ward called Grow farm they have a Facebook page. They sell at Covington farmers market too. If you do there CSA you pick up at the farmers market.

There is a u pick blueberry farm in that area too. Last year they said call first . It was bad year foe blueberries. If you goggle CSA or organic farms in Alexandra maybe other places closer to you will come up.
The one thing I didn't put in my search terms was organic, that changed the listings completely...more towards what I was looking for.

When Prim was out Sunday, I saw my first hawk flying around here. A little later we saw some buzzards flying around too. Will the buzzards go after my chickens too? I feel silly asking, and didn't think to ask Prim when she was here. Total newbie question...glad I am still full of surprises!

This was Saturday Night's dinner. Lobster, Baked Mahi Mahi Fish and a salad. :drool Oh, and I forgot pineapple wine.

I've seen buzzards go after new born calves and other new born live stock, but never any chickens.

I'm no expert, Cracked, but what I was always told was that buzzards only eat carrion/dead meat and hawks and eagles go for live.

Buzzards lurk in a dead tree near my yard sometimes and often make me a tad bit nervous but have never gone after a chicken. If too many build up sometime hubby will shoot the tree to spook them off. We really need to get that thing cut down one day.

Its generally the placenta they are after the mamma cow or whatever is generally capable of shooing them off till the newborn gets its footing I could see them getting to the baby though esp if it is a cull /non survivor (natural selection) move. but on the Buzzards getting chickens I've never had an incidence of that happening tho.
