When I went to get the camera they we're all lined up facing me. Never once tried to go back in the old coop. Pam

Loooong weekend
No sleep, everyone is sick (i don't get sick :gig but last one standing is the nurse! ) Saturday I pulled a 16 hour workday surrounded by kids in rice rockets in an empty parking garage. I was the only one on Staff :lau it was INSANE. So much so I took a time out to watch their chaos from the roof rather than my normal sunset! But I survived and having to young kids has definitely prepared my voice to handle a car show full of teenagers! :bun

Hello LA!! lol I'm pretty new on here, new to chickens as well. From the huge city of Vinton. Just waiting on my new chicks to get here. 4 SLW, 2 Speckled Sussex, 2 BO, and a BLRW roo. Cant wait

:welcome I have Silver and gold laced wyandotts. You will love this thread. We're a crazy chicken loving bunch. We like to laugh. But when we need advice or help or just someone to listen we're there for each other. Ask any question there are no stupid questions. We have all asked at one time or another. If we can't answer we can tell you who can. Pam
 
We spent the majority of the day outside, trying to get some things checked off of our "to do" list. Hubby worked on the new Chicken Barn. It still coming along......its just been slow. One of the main things he did today was make "Opa Nestboxes" (rollout nestboxes) We saw the design on this thread started by Opa. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/287684/new-rollout-nest-design-picture-heavy-edited-1-21 That thread was great inspiration. Ours isn't free standing though, they are built in. He is nearly done with them. I love them and hope the hens do too.

I did about a million tiny jobs. And a big one. The girls and I did a spa day for all the chickens

A couple of baths and some spot cleaning. Check ups and such. Its good to put your hands on every bird now and then and look it over, top to bottom.

I sat for a bit and watched the work going on in the Chicken Barn.....we had a bit of company. Our kitty Mr. Ziggy Pants came for some love and checked out the mostly finished nest boxes. His kitty brother (from another kitty mother) went missing a few days ago. Zig is really missing him

We were also joined by Her Ladyship Princess Bailey Buttercup. This is my favorite chicken crush at the moment. She is still so super duper snuggly! She got a little wash and dry today. The poor dear had gotten poo on her shoulder. NOT befitting a princess

She graced my knee for awhile before modeling her freshly cleaned fluff by the new nest boxes. She also deemed the nest boxes worthy of use by all.





We are a few steps closer to being done.....Yay!
