Poor horse hope she's on the mend. Good rescue .

HE'S on the mend. That huge stone was where the sun doesn't shine. The poor guy has been swollen and uncomfortable for a while now. As a lady I personally can't understand, but I can only imagine how much it hurt! It was a dirty job, but someone had to do it. Lol.

You guys do NOT want to know what deep dark hole I had to dig in to get that sucker out. The poor horse has been sick for weeks. Hopefully things can resolve themselves now.

I got more chickens today!!!

They're a few years old and have been on cement, so they need some TLC. Luckily I'm just the gal for them. They're on hay now, so they should heal just fine.

Uhmmmm, what is that next to the quarter. Do I want to know? I don't know how you do all that physical work(all that mowing, weedeating etc)! I so wish I could work like that.


Nevermind. I see you said it was a stone. I bet that was a fun job getting it out

A pic of a corner of my garden that I took last week. Most of the tomatoes are out the tops of the cages so far that now I am having to tie tall stakes onto the cages and secure the branches up so that they don't fall and break. There are tons of flowers and small tomatoes now. Usually this late garden would possibly be very, very bad for the tomatoes to "set" or get pollinated and not drop off the plant in the highest heat of the summer. But it seems every time it gets super bad then we get just enough relief that they are continuing to be pollinated and not dropping off.......so far anyway.

I seriously am saying a prayer that all these baby tomatoes come to harvest!!! Anyone that wants to join me on that is welcome

btw that cucumber trellis thing, that my husband put up, in the back of the picture is so tall we walk back and forth underneath to pick the cucumbers. Thankfully there hasn't been any right in the center of that top part. I would have to get a ladder!

Thanks, Lemon. I will get that stuff. In the summer the smells can be stronger and I'm in a subdivision. I really try to stay on top of any odor. I will try it with the chickens and bunnies. Yea!!!

Between the deep litter and fermented feed I have no poop. Literally none. I was looking forward to a lot of compost. It will come I guess at the end of the year when I clean it out but I have no smell either. I use pine shavings and yesterday I put a big pan of peat moss that had been dampened in so they could dust bathe and in no time it was dumped and spread. Bee used to use a lot of leaves and shavings but I didn't get any last fall. Peat is so good.
I'm on a countdown, I heard my first pip today. Got it set up in cardboard egg cartons and just waiting. I'll have to turn the other 15 that won't be ready for 5-6 days.
