Oh, honey, I feel your pain. Years (decades) ago I bought an OLD freezer and put it in the washroom. Then I bought 1/4 cow. Looked beautiful, all those white packages. Next thing I know, there is a smell in the house. Days old rotten meat The best I can figure out is a small white package slipped out and wedged the door open. Burned out the motor. My then husband never let me forget it.What we WERE going to do today:
Move the outside brooder to the grow-out pen.
Tear apart the living room and thoroughly clean, dust, vacuum & rearrange furniture.
What we ARE doing today:
I went to fix a cold drink yesterday evening & when I opened the refrigerator, everything was dripping. I grabbed one of my bator thermometers -- 48 degrees! so I pitched all the soft stuff (mayo, sour cream, leftovers, etc) grabbed boxes & moved the freezer stuff to my (already-overflowing) freezer, lugged the rest to my folks house & crammed Mom's fridge full to the brim. We did everything we knew to do & then called a repairman - it was a dead relay, so at least fixable.
this morning holding temps steady & cold so will now clean all the trays & bins & put everything back in order.
And I also went to our neighbor, Inglewood & BOUGHT eggs. That new generation upstairs better get to growing fast! I am seeing red combs appearing so hopefully the old girls will get back in the game soon.
Pouring rain here so no moving anything today - we'd sink to our knees!
All things considered, could be a lot worse!
