"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

So I just gave Ideal a call about all these roos I have and no offer was made for a credit or refund. I was told it is a "Gamble" to order a straight run.

Yea. I didn't argue but I know I'll never order another straight run again. Most likely I'll never buy from Ideal again either unless it's meat birds.
I am thinking of ordering some meaties later in the year. Would be good eatin'

wow...thats great customer service...you know **** well they knew what they were sending...i believe it is 90 percent on telling sex from a person that is trained...so if they have nobody that has been trained thats understandable but the fact that there was zero hens tell me otherwise...

thanks for the offer codya....i will keep that in mind as i always have questions...most things here are winged and build as i go ....on what i can afford at the time....

right now im snow blowing...not the driveway...lol...snowblowing a section out of the yard where the peafowl pens are going to be built...need to get down to the grass so it can melt faster...who knows maybe ill just start digging in the frozen ground...as now i have the tools for that...the snow in this area is close to two feet...yikes...and you guys thought your little dust of snow was a bad thing....lol...i switch yah...anyone want snow ill box it and ship it to yah.....hahahha

Buggles what breeds are the chicks? They're nice looking.

Mixed breeds. My cochin boys with my girls. The most interesting chicks came from my bantam columbian rock hen.

I am pretty sure they use the term straight run a an excuse to dump as many roos as humanly possible. For obvious reasons people don't want as many roos as hens so they will end up with a butt load if they didn't get rid of them somehow. Last time I got "straight" run chicks they were also all roos. Every single one.

^ It certainly gives them an "out" as the term "Straight Run" is BS. I just don't see the odds! They know what they're doing. I ordered a ST to be fair to the birds-to give some cockerels a bit of a life before their ultimate demise-but that's what you get in return. Now I'm scared to order a ST from anywhere be it a breeder or not as they can be just as dishonest.

I've been learning tricks of semantics from government, corporations, etc. Asking for a second coop for layers has gotten me nowhere. Asking for help to build "coop and grow-out pen for these chicks I'm about to hatch" got me a promise of next week. :celebrate :lau
