We recycled some old window screens. Made a square frame out of 2x4s that sits on the ground and screwed the screens to the frame. It's like a big screened in playpen. I throw some lattice over the top to keep the hawks away! My babies are 6 weeks old and LOVE going outside. It gives me time to freshen up the brooder pen too!

It's SUPER easy! DH and I put it together in about 15 minutes. Oh, I forgot to tell you..zip tie the screens together at the four top corners

Sound like it. I'll probably use hardware cloth since I don't have any screen readily available but I do have some pieces of lattice for the top!! VERY cool idea!! Thanks again!!

The first guineas we had about 3 years ago were too tame I guess. They did not even try to escape when my cousins German Shepard and another cousins mutt dog paid
a visit while I was gone. Out of 10 the dogs killed 9. They were raised in the coop and run with my layers.
I bought guineas again last July. I only got 6 this time and planned on raising them but also not foolin with them too much to see if they would maybe be a little more wilder
than the first bunch I had got. Didn't bother them much except to feed and water them while they were in the brooder. Put them in a coop at about 5 weeks or so and still did
nothing with them except feed and water.
They are just stupid i guess. When I open the front door every morning here they come running and making that God-awful noise that they make. No sooner than I step off the
porch They will start jumping on my shoulder to take rides.
So far though I have never lost any to a wild predator only the two dogs but i do not have that problem anymore.

Ok! I am a little happier and my Roo is a lot happier I now have 4 hens... need 4 more...anyone?

Missi, I quick tie 4 of those white powder coated wire shelving panels from Lowes together to make a playpen for my kittens. You could do that for your babies and it is completely portable, of course just make sure you make a top for it so noone flies out or a predator gets your babies. With a top, it would be perfect for lots of chickies.
