What do you mean Steven? Which thread hasn't accepted you?

By and large this one , but understand there are mostly women on here and I am a man and with the way the world is today , people have to be cautious . I am one of those people that never meets a stranger , and can yack with anyone . I have sent out a few pm's just to get some more specific info and have gotten no response . Figure most I see on here know each other personally and don't accept strangers . I may be wrong but it's how I feel . So I am venting . I am happily married and love my birds and enjoy learning more about this here chicken , since I have a few now and am finding out they are an amazing fowl !!!

Unless you vover your entire pen with it its not going to keep either out. i/2 inch would work completely covered though.
Best way to keep out snakes is to surround your pen with loose rolled bird netting.

That should be secure enough and you could probably even go with 1/2" hardware cloth if you wanted to.
I have never had a snake in my pens, actually have not seen a snake here around the house in several years now,
since I started raising guineas.I personally don't have hardware cloth anywhere on my coops or pens except for 1 or 2
places above the door.
I have some rats here that are about as big as squirrels. I usually go rat hunting about 2-3 times a month. In the last
2 weeks the guineas have killed 3 or so big rats in the coop.
