No prob! And on the chicken wire, there is a place close where I live in Baton Rouge that posts on CL sometimes and they sell rolls that are double what they sell for at home depot and it's a little bit cheaper! I've been debating whether I was going to put welded wire or chicken wire on my new run when we build it. My fence is made out of welded wire and it doesn't take much to pop those welds. and with the openings being 2x4 I think I would feel much safer with chicken wire!!

I saw on another thread yesterday where a rattlesnake was coming through the chicken wire . I just think 19 gauge 1/2 welded wire is best . What is CL ?

Two 36"x100 ft rolls for about 160 .00 and free shipping is hard to beat and better security in my mind . Chicken wire isn't that strong a gauge .

Yes 1/2"x1/2" squares , and it won't rust either .

Sure if you don't have a bunch of area to cover. But when you start talking about needing 10-20 rolls of this stuff!!

Well, try covering this in hardware cloth!! And if your not rich you won't be able to buy & feed birds when your done!! Or imagine Mike covering that huge aviary he has with it. It's just not practical.

You must have farm wire for the openings to be that big , which is good for a perimeter fence .

Yes , I see your point , being new and not having a decent run yet , I am just trying to learn what some and some do not use is all .

What do you do about snakes and mice ? Mike said use bird netting put around the coop or run . I didn't see any in his picture .

Deal with it! I've only had 3 snakes before. Mice, well it's just something I deal with since I'm in the country!! I believe the field mice could get in a 1/2 opening!!

Well on this site all you will get it "OMG don't use chicken wire it's to keep chickens in not predators out" You talk to people that's been keeping birds for years and all they've ever used is chicken wire!! I posted a thread one day asking for pictures where a predator tore through the chicken wire. No one could provide one. The one pic someone posted had already been verified by the owner that the hole that was shown in the pic had a door right there and nothing tore through the wire!! It's all about what you can afford as far as I'm concerned. I've seen people post pics of there run where they spent a fortune in hardware cloth and then have nothing over the top but some freakin netting. Trust me I'd rather have chicken wire that netting!! But that's just my opinion!!
