Im trying something as of yesterday I wrapped the backside of my brood pen with a $5 roll of that stuff you put in flour beds its black to keep weeds from coming up. Got it at the dollar store 3'x25' roll. We will see how long it holds up. Harbor frieght tarps are cheep too.

You know I heard you mention the shade cloth before and I looked everywhere for it. I really should have asked you where you got it. A friend of mine suggested Ace, said he thought he saw one there.

Since I'm going to be building a new coop and run within the next year or two I don't really want to spend more money on this one if I don't have to. The 2 different ways to get a roof on it would have cost a min of $80 and max $120 and it still woundn't give shade on the run it self. So doing it this way the entire run for my big girls will be covered with one and almost the run of the other side to. Another good thing I found out is that I can order any size shade cloth to my specifications from him so that will be great when I get the other one built!!
