I wouldn't let a good laying hen go for anything less than $15, and that would be for one of my mutts! Of course we all make exceptions for our friends and stuff, but come on people! They must forget that you have to feed, water, and house a birds for at least 6 months before they start laying.

Room and board is not free! I guess we need to film a news special on how much time, money, and effort go into our birds. Oh did I mention how much money? I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July. I have some homemade chicken and vegetable soup on the stove and am going to sit back and relax for the evening.

Thank you ma'am!! I'm glad that you said that. That is the same thing that I told this one guy. I quoted him a price of $15.00 and his eyes got real big. And I definitely agree with you in that for people that I know (friends, etc.) I always sell to them at a lower price. But someone that I don't know, well it's full price. Some people......

HOMEMADE chicken and vegetable soup? Now that sounds delicious. Is it one of your processed birds? I was thinking about homemade chicken pot pie. Now you have me thinking. YUMMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, how is the duck pen coming along? Did ya'll work on it any today?

I got about 30min of rain too.
A couple of people in my area sell laying hens for $25.
Takes a lot of feed to feed a chicken six monthes. Can't just give them away at that age.

I did it. I couldn't help myself. Now I must get my incubator out, scrub it down, and bring it in the house. I bit. I ordered eggs on ebay. I purchased 12 partridge penedesenca eggs, 12 mille fleur OEG bantam eggs, 12 self blue OEG bantam eggs, and 15 brown leghorn eggs. Here I go again. Darn you all for keeping this addiction going.

I am in love with the red headed polish chickens lol and my Mawmaw will have a biopsy tomorrow and hope to find a doctor in neworleans Thanks for the prayers
