LOL @ duck rodeo.

Good to see you Mike. Squirrel mulligan? Sounds tasty.

Hats off to you for 11 years of Youth Hunts.

I bet the kids really enjoy that. I hope everyone has a fantastic time.

24 years in business? That's a great record. If you're wanting to close your business then you deserve to throw in the towel and retire and enjoy life even more. Make it 25 and say "Hats Off". You are smart enough to do ANYTHING that you want to do because you have already been doing this. You have been a successful business owner, farm owner, rancher, animal whisperer (caring for all of those animals), Animal Consultant (gives advice when we need advice), animal control officer (taking down predators), Angler (all the fish you catch), Architect (constructing all of your magnificent housing for your animals) and so many other titles. If that ain't smart, I don't know what smart is.

They sent you a LETTER?????????????????? Seriously????????????????
somad.gif
You will be able to find a 2nd job. Don't give up.

Yeah, a letter. But that is about how that place is...state government for you. Our supervisor is a POS anyway and doesn't care about keeping things running smoothly...more like causes problems so she needs to be around to fix them. Job security I suppose. I guess maybe I was a threat because I actually knew how to do things properly the first time so they didn't have to be re-done constantly. I always liked it when the stewards would ask me to fix the supervisor's mistakes, haha. I have the new Post Office job that will probably be picking up now that I am more comfortable with it, and I work p/t at a vet clinic, but they have been slow, so I haven't been there in the last month. And my chicken business is going well, I can't keep enough eggs to sell!

Well, gotta run to feed animals and sign some papers to get the $$ I had to put into the retirement fund back!

Morning everyone.... Seems you all have been busy....

TB ..First off...whats ur name?...lol... most of us here are on first names and If you said before I've missed it lol....
Sorry to hear about the 'Letter".Kind of reminds me how our company did us when they came in to announce our store shutting and everyone being layed off.All the divisional HR showed up,Loss prevention, some supervisors from other stores to cover cashiers and floor associates, security, and city police with them. They herded everyone who was working that day into receiving and told them point blank the store was shutting down and no one would be transferred to other sites.I was off that day and got a phone call from one of my cashiers crying her eyes out wanting to know why I didn't warn them.I was like 'warn you of what?" Then I get a beep in from my SM and DHRM and I tell my cashier I'll be there in a few minutes, but when I got there they pulled me upstairs before I could talk to her.It was pretty crushing because after Katrina I opened that store.I stocked the shelves before we had electricity and then I closed the store.Really sucked.Couldn't stand half the people I worked with, but still loved my job and some of my girls...lol...

Mike,Really wish you were closer.I'd love to take my son up there hunting. There's really no place's around here. That aren't leased by a hunt club anyway. And the clubs here are outrageous and ridiculous. All buddies and nothing but a bunch of freakin alcoholics with guns.Don't get me wrong.Having a beer or two while sittin around or fishing is one thing, but these idiots sit around and get stone cold drunk and then kill people driving.
I'm with Julie on the work.As much as you do with EVERYTHING,you deserve to call it a day(or a quarter of a century) and close up shop. You've put in alot of time, and continue to do so in many different aspects.I think you'll enjoy your time off...

Julie, can't wait to hear about your duck-scapades....

Good luck with your Marans Missi...

Share pics when you get your silkies Brit....

Morning Terri...Yvette....Harry....

Things doing better around here the last couple days...lol...I think I hurt my back messing around the other day and that's whats been making my headaches kick butt worse. All upper back/shoulder areas.Lotsa hot showers and Bengay(no jokes!) .... Got all the traps and transport cages stcked up nicely behind the barn. The poles put up,concrete going in today. More framing later.Got a barrel of waterers/feeders soaking in bleach water for cleaning to prepare for storage.Got rid of the 4x8 brooder and 2 smaller brooders yesterday.Got a lot of lumber to clear and stack for use and wire to pile up for scrappers.Once all the demolition junk is cleared I'm gonna have the trailer moved and then start tearing up the concrete slab.(Where I shoved the wire through my foot!) I'll be soo happy.Hopefully the slab will be gone by the beginning of the year. The rest will be done much sooner.

Headed outside...LAter Peeps....
