I just got back from the job-seeking seminar -- a wasted morning except I did my good deed for the day & helped the lady next to me who was not computer literate & therefore, lost as a goose. (I put that on the evulation too - if they're going to have these things, they need enough people to help the people who don't know anything about computers).

I still haven't heard any of you say what exactly do you DO with the acorns? Eat them? Feed them to your chickens? Stuff pillows with them?

Thanks Terri. That was sweet of you to go with your neighbor!! I have no clue what people do with all the acorns!!

Afternnoon guys.Kinda slept in a lil this morn.Hadn't felt to wonderful this morn.ugghhh... Congrats on the hatches Missi... and more to come... Well,finally got a few eggs from the girls. Got 2 from the BCM and 1 a day from the Buffs for about a week now.

It's a hatch along on BYC. Everyone sets their eggs on Dec. 11 and there are prizes for first chick hatched of the new year, how many eggs set, hatch rate, etc. It's another reason to hatch more chicks!

Concerning the acorns: My chickens are very picky about the kind of acorns they eat. I usually mash them with my foot and they come running and eat the "meat" of it. But some they turn up their nose (I mean, beak) at.

Thanks for the info. Well that would exclude me from the hatchalong. I don't own an incubator. Are you going to participate?
 
Anyone have one of these? My neighbor came over and asked me if I wanted to borrow hers for when I pick my pecans.
