Wow! With all this lightning the last few days there seems to be a lot of static electricity in the air! My poor lil chicks, just look at them! LOL!
Chris

Boy, talk about a bad hair day huh? LOL I don't think Dapper Dan or FOP could do much with all that friz, LOL

Chris we gotta make some other arrangement for chicken delivery I reckon all this bunch(family) went in the same car so no room for chickens. I thought for sure one my sisters was going to go in her truck and that would have worked out perfect but things for me don't get perfect too many times a year LOL

Those are awesome Chris! Don't you wish they all hatched like that so you didn't have to cull so hard?
Thanks Gracie.

Yea I hatched about 60 sizzle chicks so far and I kept I think 20. I ended up keeping everything with barbed feathers both smooth and frizzled. The last 16 sizzle eggs go into lock down tomorrow night and then both of my bators and me will be taking a break for a while.

The culling has been great so far. With-in 2 weeks I know who is going to stay and who is going to go. So I don't have a ton of chicks hanging around that I have to take care of. I've had a few people come by and pick up some of those chicks but I also have a feed store that will take them all... whatever I don't want.

If I end up with a nice male having smooth barbed feathers after all this and breed him over the barbed frizzle feathered hens that I now have, it won't be bad at all next year. Something like 3 to 1 keepers to culls.

Here are a couple more pics for ya...
