"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey where is everybody! THIT (thank heavens it's Thursday) for me -- which is my "Friday".

Tomorrow cleaning out the chicken coop -- since all the rain last weekend it has gotten a bit "whiffy" - plus I need to add to my mulch pile - fixing to take most of it for the fall garden.

Have a touch of "hatching fever" - I swear, this is worse than "new car fever" lol! - but resisting the urge - must wait until after the 1st of the year!

Have a good one everybody!
I know what you mean Terri! I said I was shutting my bators down, but they are currently humming away in my spare bedroom!

Am I the only one who raises something to laying age, but then decides that I want to get rid of them and try another breed? I've done this a couple of times, and it's really not smart of me! The increasing feed prices have also influenced me to maybe downsize. I think I am going to just let my Partridge Rocks free range if I can't get rid of them for a decent price. If anyone is interested in them I would like $45 for the trio and $30 for the pair. Also have a few chicks I can throw in for free! They are nice birds from Horstman lines. They are about 7 months old and just starting to lay. Nice looking birds that would make a great 4-H project! Let me know if anyone is interested. I will try to get some pics up by tomorrow.

I have my heart set on raising some White Minorcas. The only people that I can find with them is Sand Hill Conservatory, and they won't return my calls :-( Supposedly there are only 100 or less of them in the whole country. Sounds like a worthy project to me!

I thought it was supposed to start up this Friday. I'd give them a call:

Let me know how it goes! I have a few birds that I might want to get rid of if they are getting good prices over there. I just hate to bring them when the prices are low. Plus, 25% commission is a little steep IMO.
yep i know what you mean, im just bringing a few to cutt back a little till i get another yard built but i will post on here saturday how it goes

You have the fever allright! I bought a GQF sportsman1502, about 7 years ago, to hatch outa few more pullets. I have not yet turned it off and due to a frend loosing his chickens to preditors, asked me to hatch a few for him, I just bought my second one. Now, I can have 600 eggs incubating every month!!!
