Hi guys and fellow chicken lovers, I'm here because of my noisy hens, one in particular.
I'm not new to having hens. When I was young, I used to buy small chicks for fun. My mom used to love them too.

Some would become prey to cats; we have a lot of stray cats. Sometimes we would eat them, sometimes they'd die. But I never remember such noisy hens all my life.

Right now I have 2 egg-laying hens, one of them started only three weeks ago and makes such ominous cries ALL DAY LONG for no reason AT ALL.
Another hen I lost a few days back. I don't know what happened to her. She was so beautiful; we named her Snow White. And, the last hen is tiny... she's a dwarf and I'm not sure she'll ever lay eggs but she's too cute.
We have one rooster and 5 chicks, all male.

I don't know their breeds, at least, in English. I love rooster crows and I can tolerate the egg songs, but the ominous cry of this one hen is getting on my nerves. :he

My problem is not my neighbors. Even my family wants the hen out, and secretly, I do too:rant but I LOVE all my hens:hit. Especially the one that's clucking all day long is so dominating. I don't have the heart to lose her.

I love keeping hens, seeing them running around, scratching, eating is like therapy and they eat all my vegetable and fruit scraps so I feel less guilty making edible waste. :D

Other than that, I'm a content writer and editor. A single mom of a beautiful young preteen. Both of us are ADHD so it's quite chaotic in our home all the time.

I found BYC looking for reasons why my hen might be making such a ruckus and if I could do anything about it except roasting her or making her into a soup.

Hello there! I'm not sure why your pullet would be making such unusual cries. My birds go on some pretty loud clucking rampages but usually settle down after a short time. Is it possible for you to make a video of her?
You can't upload it directly here though, you'd have to post it on YouTube or similar site and link to it, like so:

I think if you create another thread over here:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/chicken-behaviors-and-egglaying.18/
you might get more people to see it than just us greeters. There's tons of knowledgable folks on the site, they just can't be everywhere all at once! A video could help determine if that's just her personality or if she might be in distress.

I hope you're able to find a solution and save her from the stew pot!
