Love my australorps!

I just love my australorp she follows me everywhere. she doesn't cluck she's got this kind of "growl" and she'll growl everywhere we go. the first time she laid an egg I gave her some canned corn so now when she lays an egg she comes running out of the barn to get her treat. she is such a funny girl!!

I have 2 aussies Blossom and Bubbles and I love them too. Besides being full of cuteness they are awesome layers.

Austalorps are the best! Mine will run and crowd me to see what treats I have for them. I just love feeling their soft feathers around my ankles each day!

I had a single Marans hatch. She was lonely so we got two Blk Australorp chicks at the feed store. THEY ARE SO SWEET! They are like a little chick puddle in my hand! I hope they stay that way!

I actually have a question on one of mine. They are two weeks old now, and I have 6. I had a mixed order (went in with other people). There were black stars and a barred rock and a rare mystery chick supposed to be in the order as well, we did as well as we could figuring out which was which. However, one of my aussies has developed a white stripe on each wing. None of the rest have. Is this typical of perhaps a barred rock when their feathers are coming in?

I don't know but mine do have some white feathers on there wings. Not really a stipe though.

ETA: You can see in my avatar one of them is the first in line then the 2nd is shortly nearby ..along with the orps which are descendants( I believe)
