Low Spouse Impact Chickens

I've pulled the trigger and ordered a Henspa. It was the coop that appealed most to my eye and I liked the low maintenance aspect. Yes, it was massively over my budget, but if I didn't buy the coop it would've been something else, wouldn't it

I didn't want to put the Chick-N-Barn/Yard on my credit card and DH actually convinced me that it WAS an emergency. Glad we did it now because it's 7+ weeks later and still haven't finished the main chicken yard yet. He has a few things to finish up in it before I can add my finishing touches (hardware cloth, hardware cloth and more hardware cloth).

I've been waiting since July to get my coop from Albany Pets off ebay. The seller won't respond to communication of any sort. I talked to the shipping company today and they told me that UPS is now refusing to ship his coops because too many have gotten damaged in transit. They have been trying to contact him for a month and haven't gotten a response. Buyer beware!

I have discussed shipping with the folks at www.coops4you.com and they tell me they had the same experience (broken product) with UPS. However, Fedex Ground shipping is not only less expensive, they tell me that their damaged product rate was apparently eliminated as well.

If you can reach the seller, maybe he will ship to you by Fedex?

Thanks for the tip. I can't reach the seller though and neither can the shipping company. Ebay won't do anything to help me either.

I will ask the shippers about FedEx though. I'm sure they would like to ship some of their coop backlog.

That is too bad. I didn't have any issues with recieving my item. When I had a question I emailed the guy and he responded. He was fine with me. This was in April or May.

He seems to have stepped up his business for chicken coops. It sounds like he really wanted to offer items to the USA, but the shipping damage is causing issues. Perhaps he will change shipping companies.

I do hope that it all works out for you.

Perhaps I should delete my post. But then again, others can see what has been happening and decide for themselves.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear you got your coop with no issues. Maybe I'll get mine someday. I'm just bitter because I have been waiting for so long and the chickens that the coop was for got eaten while I waited. If I had gotten the coop in a timely manner maybe that wouldn't have happened.

Plus seller has been extremely difficult to deal with, and not just with me. Shipping company complained about him being a bozo and he has gotten several negative feedbacks recently on ebay.

BTW ebay is refusing to help because the transaction was over 60 days old. Next time I won't be so patient I guess.
