Lowes playhouse 4x4 "My Little Playhouse" Kankakee Illinois $149!

Glad the hen door idea worked for you. For the run, we had a 10'x10' dog kennel that we no longer used, so we just removed one side and attached the rest to the playhouse/coop. We put the door on the side, and that's where we enter the coop from. Here's a pic - (pardon the mess, we were still under construction at this point

Let us know what you end up with for the run!

That turned out so cute! We purchased one to use for my daughter's soon to be banty collection. It's still sitting in the box unassembled waiting for her to have time to paint it & put it together.

Do you have any pics of the inside of yours?

Thanks,
Kim

after checking the lowe's website without success, i called my local store (ann arbor, mi); they said it was on sale for $168 but didn't have any in stock since they were a holiday (christmas) item; she then checked the computer and directed me to a store in a neighboring town that had some. called that store and was told theirs were $350 - when i mentioned that the ann arbor store had them for $168 she said she would have to speak with her manager. her manager told her his store did not have them on sale and was firm about the $350 price. that ticked me off! i called the 1-800 lowe's customer support number and asked why one store would have one price and another store would have another - why wouldn't they match prices? if they matched competitors prices, why wouldn't they match a sister store? they said they would have the offending store contact me within 24 hours. long story, semi-short -- i got the coop/playhouse for $168 and will make the 1.5 hour drive to pick it up this week. the store manager said his cost for the playhouse was $300 - what a joke! i doubt lowe's corporate purchasing department would risk a return on their investment of $50... suggestion: call your area store and ask them to search the store's computer to find you one. and then stick to your guns.

I also don't have mine any more... but I never used it to assemble the coop. Just hold th back wall up, put on one side, put on the next with windows where you want. Then add the door side with the pre hung door. Just put in like 3 screws down each joint. Put on the opposite side of the door frame, add the corner pieces in the bottom once you square it up, and then add the two top traingles. The long screws go in to each, 3 in each, since they are the only ones that are long enough. Then add the middle V wood to the center, attach the roofing starting with the cap and going down the sides. And that's about it.

This is the inside of mine. I have since put hardware cloth over the windows, linoleum on the floor and a low roost for the banties. I still need to paint it all inside.

Thank you so much for posting pics of the inside of your coop. That turned out so cute. I love it! How many bantys do you have & what kind? How big did you make their run? My daughter is finally out of school, so she can start working on hers finally. For now it's still in it's box in the garage.

Well.... I originally planned to have 8 chickens, but the MPC price break was at 15 so I did that and thought I'd just keep the sweet ones and sell the others. Then they got here and they're all sweet and I can't decide who to get rid of and who to keep. So now I'm going to have to build another coop to go with that one.

I have 5 bantums and 12 standards (the hatchery threw in two bonus chickens and everyone has survived!). I think I'm going to build a second coop opposite the red one. The run is 8'x16' so the second coop will be 8'x6'. The run is all 4x4x8s and 1x4x8s. We didn't have to cut anything. Oh, and there are 1x6x8s at the bottom. I'm not sure the run is actually big enough, but I plan on doing some free range as well.

In my bantum mix are:
2 mille fleurs
2 silkies (blue and white)
1 silver sebright

The standards are buff orps, EEs, welsummers, golden laced and silver laced wyandottes. I have TONS of pictures posted on my blog thingy (www.farmeranne.blogspot.com).

What kind do you have?
