Just heard from the lady in Russellville who helped me find the house, when I mentioned having to give up the goats and chickens:
>>Ummm...honey, you can have a cow in the city limits here...I think up to 6 or 8...if you have a 4 foot enclosed pen and do not allow her to run at large, she's legal...
http://www.russellvillearkansas.org/ordinances/1671.pdf
So I can take her with! I can have up to 10 chickens or other poultry.
I looked on the city website and checked the animal control regs and somehow missed the link to that. I was checking about my pit. (shhh, she's actually a boxer/shepherd mix. She can pass, she's real delicate boned, long legs and snout, not one of the "gator heads")
Hmmm.... DH is NOT going to be thrilled.....oh well, he'll get over it.
(but it will be an interesting trip with the dogs, cats and chickie in the car. Yup, definately getting one of those K-9 barriers for the back compartment of the Jeep!
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and homes even though everyone was so far away!
Traded my little car for a monster 1986 Suburban. Might cost me $300 in gas to get there, but plenty of room for all the animals and I can tow my 49 Plymouth. It would cost around $600 to have it shipped, so that works out! I can always trade it for something else once I get there.
