Lump on Comb

Hi everyone,

I've recently been given three Orpington Chickens from a friend of friend - They've been great but one was molting quite badly when we got her and has been for the last 5-6 weeks. Recently she had a lump grow on her comb which looks like it's bled a little. Her behaviour is in keeping with the other two chickens who seem fine. I'm just a bit worried it may by fowl pox or something worse.

I've attached a couple of photos, anyone know what could have caused this? Should I call a vet?

Ouch...that looks like an infected bite or puncture. I would pull off the scab and see if you can release the infection. Then clean with peroxide ... If nothing releases apply a drawing save to it or apply neosporine to get a handle.
