Hello everyone, my two year old hen Luna was sick about two months ago. She is a cream legbar We gave her some Epsom salt baths and gave her antibiotics and she started laying again and everything seem to be fine. That is until yesterday evening when I came out to close my chickens and she was sleeping on the floor. Her tail was down and her comb was very droopy. Whenever I pick her up she has really liquid poop. I’m not sure what this is and what to do anymore. She was just laying and everything seemed fine. The only weird thing I can think of that happened is she laid a fairy egg that had no yolk a couple of days ago. I see her drinking a lot and when I gave her scrambled eggs, she had quiet a bit. She is just finishing up on her molt. Please give me any suggestions on what to do. Thanks!

If she's had reproductive problems, then likely it's another 'episode'. I've had hens wax and wane for months until they needed to be put out of their misery.

You can try treating her like you did the last time and see if that helps. Make sure her crop is emptying and that she's staying hydrated.

Sadly, once a hen is having reproductive problems, they seem to be on borrowed time. Treating symptoms as they arise and keep them comfortable is what I try to do. Once they are in a state of decline and don't bounce back within a few days, I put them out of their misery.

Thank you, 😔 I will keep treating my girl and hopefully she recovers. 😢💔

I think you are doing what you can for her.

Sadly, I think she will probably have it again. At least that's what I have seen with my hens. They can get better for a while, then not feel well and back and forth.
Well, I’ll keep trying. I will tell you how it goes. She has layed some pretty funky eggs before she got sick... She layed a fairy egg that had no yolk, and she layed another wierd egg very odd shape, that broke before we could see what was inside.
